Namak Mandi, which means salt market in urdu, is named after an area in Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that borders Afghanistan. Namak Mandi was a salt market in colonial times, but as times have changed, so has the market. Namak Mandi is now known for its many restaurants, all specializing in meat-heavy Pashtun cuisine.
We are proud to bring the taste of Namak Mandi to Virginia. Kabobs and tikkas grilled in the tandoor oven. Karahis cooked over high flames in a flat-bottomed wok. Naan, baked fresh from the tandoor.
